Parker University named one of the Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America

Chiropractic Economics February 10, 2014

Free_Chiropractic_Care_Parker_UniversityFebruary 10, 2014 — Parker University has been named one of the Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America for 2014 by Healthiest Employers, an employee health analytics, best practices, and benchmark data company. Parker University is one of only four universities in the nation to be recognized with the award.

“We’re very honored to be among the top 100 healthiest workplaces,” said Sandra McLean, chief human resources officer of Parker University. “It recognizes our institution’s dedication to health and wellness and our commitment to providing employees with the tools and information needed to lead healthy lifestyles.”

The health and wellness university was recognized for achieving remarkable and sustainable success through a broad range of corporate wellness programs and employee wellness initiatives. Parker University attained this recognition as the culmination of a year-long, highly selective two-stage assessment process spanning the U.S. to include companies of all sizes from all regions and industries.

Rod Reasen II, president of Healthiest Employers, said in a release that “this highly selective award recognizes employers who demonstrate exceptional leadership in using wellness as a strategy to build productive workplaces committed to employee and community well-being.”

Parker employees benefit from a health and wellness culture that offers numerous advantages, including free chiropractic care and health and wellness counseling in its Parker University Chiropractic Wellness Clinics, discounted health and wellness products such as supplements, back and neck supportive pillows, and more.

The institution also implements a variety of wellness programs, including Simply Well, an online tool used to motivate employees to manage and increase healthy behaviors. The customized program enables employees to identify their possible health risks and empowers them to improve their health with the help of individualized action plans and support tools. Employees who participate in the program and achieve predetermined point requirements are rewarded with a discount on health insurance premiums.

Employees can take advantage of the gym on-campus or can be reimbursed for a gym membership. Parker also holds healthy events, programs, and challenges for its faculty and staff.
