December 17, 2011 — The Parker University Patriots won the championship as the top athletic chiropractic institution in the 20th Annual Chiro Games held in Cocoa Beach, Fla.
The Parker Patriots won championships in five of 12 sports and went on to claim a record sixth team title in seven years. Parker out-distanced Logan College of Chiropractic 68-54 in the 16 chiropractic school event.
Parker won gold medals in men’s basketball, women’s basketball, running, men’s soccer, and beach volleyball. The Patriots also picked up silver medals in flag football, tennis, and swimming.
“Sports fans are always looking for a dynasty,” said Steve Weller, director of athletics and recreation at Parker University. “In the Chiro Games, Parker University is this decade’s most powerful dynasty.”
Overall, the 2011 championship marked the 11th team title for the Parker Patriots since the games began in 1992.
