Parker University announced that alumnus Derek Huddleston, DC, CCSP, ATC, owner of Advance Chiropractic and Performance PLLC in Little Rock, Arkansas, has been selected as an honorary commander for the 19th Security Forces Squadron at Little Rock Air Force Base.
The prestigious Little Rock Air Force Base Honorary Commander Program fosters a deeper understanding and relationship with the Little Rock Air Force Base and surrounding civilian communities. With civic leaders serving as honorary commanders, the program can bridge the gap between military and civilian sectors, promoting mutual support and collaboration.
This specific program benefits honorary commanders by providing them with insights into military life. It also helps Little Rock Air Force Base leadership understand civilian perspectives and needs, ensuring better planning and cooperation.
Honorary commanders, like Huddleston, serve as advisors, communicators and advocates. They provide essential feedback on public attitudes, insights into Air Force operations and information from within their communities. Honorary commanders help explain base missions and challenges to the public, which helps build more community engagement and support.
Huddleston is committing to a term of 2-3 years. He will attend various events and activities both on and off the base, build critical relationships and experience base operations firsthand. His involvement includes quarterly tours, participation in ceremonies and social events, and inviting military personnel into the workplace.
“My primary goals are to identify and address any root causes of physical issues affecting the Airmen of the 19th Security Forces Squadron, improve their overall physical performance and implement strategies to prevent future injuries,” Huddleston said in a Parker University press release. “By enhancing their physical resilience, I aim to contribute to their effectiveness in their roles as defenders in the U.S. Air Force.”
