February 5, 2009 — More than 240 vendors and 3,000 experts in the fields of chiropractic, health, and wellness converged at the 2009 Las Vegas Parker Seminars, providing attendees with valuable insight and information that will take their practices and daily lives to the next level.
Joining the 2009 Las Vegas Parker Seminar was Suzanne Somers, actress, author, and wellness enthusiast; Jack Canfield, best-selling author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series; and relationship expert and best-selling author of Men are From Mars; Women are From Venus, John Gray.
Additional noted speakers included Fabrizio Mancini, DC, president of Parker College of Chiropractic; James Chestnut, DC; John Demartini, DC; Patrick Gentempo, DC; Hyla Cass, DC; Maurice Pisciottano, DC; Eric Plasker, DC; and JJ Virgin, as well as a strong team of others.
Parker Seminars recognized a select group of outstanding individuals who are committed to making a difference within the chiropractic profession. Mr. Charlie DuBois, president of Standard Process Inc. received the coveted philanthropy award. Receiving the award for 2009 DC of the Year was Gene Orlowsky, DC; Patrick Bodnar, DC; James Chestnut, DC; Ali Jafari, DC; and Thomas Rigel, DC.
The World Congress of Women Chiropractors, an organization founded by Jim Parker, DC, honored Elizabeth Anderson-Peacock, DC as the 2009 Woman of the Year for her exemplary service to chiropractic. Performance Health representing Biofreeze, Thera Band, Prossage, recognized J.C. Doornik, DC, co-founder of ChiroMission, as the 2009 Biofreeze Humanitarian of the Year.
The giving continued as Standard Process Inc. presented Parker with a check for $1 million to show their support for the chiropractic profession and the colleges that will educate future chiropractors.
Also new to the 2009 Las Vegas Parker Seminar was the First Annual Parker Gala, hosted by Parker College of Chiropractic and benefiting chiropractic research and the advancement of the profession. The Drugless Research Hall of Fame made its debut at the Parker Gala, honoring Dr. Ron Rupert, dean of the Parker Research Institute, as the first inductee into the hall of fame.
