Parker Seminars celebrates 60th anniversary in Orlando

Chiropractic Economics April 21, 2011

April 21, 2011 — Parker Seminars celebrated its diamond anniversary of 60 years during a Parker Seminar held in Orlando, Fla. April 7-9.

In 1951, Dr. James W. Parker, a pioneer and visionary of the profession, held the first Parker Seminar in Orlando. What started out as a chiropractic seminar consisting of only seven attendees quickly grew to the largest and most attended chiropractic seminar in the world. Today, Parker Seminars has hosted more than 420 seminars across the globe and trained more than 35,000 doctors of chiropractic and more than 200,000 chiropractic assistants.

“Dr. Parker was mentored by Dr. BJ Palmer,” said Fabrizio Mancini, DC, president of Parker University and Parker Seminars. “It was important to Dr. Parker to carry on this tradition by mentoring others in the profession through Parker Seminars. Parker Seminars is committed to continuing with this vision by providing the support and leadership that’s essential to spreading chiropractic around the world.”

This past weekend, more than 500 doctors of chiropractic and chiropractic assistants attended Parker Seminars Orlando to reconnect and ignite their passion through Parker Principles — a series of life principles personally developed by Dr. Parker. The core of Parker Seminars is based off of one of Dr. Parker’s principles — “Loving service my first technique.”

In addition, attendees strengthened their chiropractic foundations with a combination of courses that focused on subjects like keeping your practice up-to-date and thriving in today’s marketplace, philosophy, techniques, practice procedures, business success, and more.

“I love the fact that every time I go to a Parker Seminar I meet inspiring people and hear motivating messages that I can take back with me to incorporate into my business and that have contributed to my practices’ success,” said Dr. Karen Maxwell in Sedona, Arizona.

The seminar featured world-renowned speakers and leading experts in chiropractic and wellness including Dr. Patrick Gentempo, Dr. Fabrizio Mancini, Dr. Gilles Lamarche, Dr. Jeff Spencer, Dr. Charles Ward, Dr. James Chestnut, Dr. Michael Hall, Dr. Larry Markson, Kathy Mills Chang, Pat Atanas, Dr. Gene Orlowsky, Dr. Rick Wren, Brandi MacDonald, Dr. Jason Deitch, Dr. Patrick Bodnar, and Dr. Jeffrey Cottingame.

Nearly 50 exhibitors also participated in the seminar by displaying the latest industry products and technologies.

“I’ve attended Parker Seminars throughout my education and I feel they’ve helped me gain the confidence, insight, and wisdom I’ll need to go out into the profession,” said Kent Clark, tri-nine Parker University College of Chiropractic student.

Parker Seminars features three North American programs every year. This includes the legendary Parker Seminars Las Vegas, recognized as the largest gathering of chiropractors, chiropractic assistants, and chiropractic vendors in the world. International seminars have been held in Japan, Europe, Mexico, and Australia.
