Chiropractic Economics December 21, 2010

December 21, 2010 — Parker College of Chiropractic held its 14th Annual Food Drive where students, faculty, and staff donated canned food for those in need. The donations will go to the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB).

Parker quickly overflowed 54,200 meal boxes. This year’s donation is expected to surpass the 9,158 pounds of canned food donated last year. NTFB will provide food weigh in results in January.

“It’s important to our students, faculty, and staff that we join together and show support for the surrounding communities during the season of giving,” said Dr. Gene Giggleman, dean of center for academics at Parker.

NTFB is a nonprofit center for food distribution that seeks to eliminate hunger by distributing food and grocery products through a network of nonprofit organizations while providing education and increasing awareness on issues of hunger.
