August 4, 2010 — Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA), chairman of the Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations Subcommittee, announced he has secured a total of $20.775 million for vital education, workforce, and healthcare initiatives that benefit Eastern Iowa.
Included are Palmer College of Chiropractic and Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine, which will receive $400,000 to develop a model integrative healthcare program for the treatment of pain.
Palmer will work with the Brind Center to test models of clinical service for the assessment and management of pain.
