COLUMBUS, OH–(Marketwire – Jan 16, 2013) – The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) and Healthy Ohio Business Council (HOBC) have named Quantum Health as a 2012 Healthy Ohio Healthy Worksite Award – Bronze Winner in the Small Business category. ODH Director Theodore E. Wymyslo, M.D. and Laura Ritzler, chair of the HOBC, will present the award at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at the Embassy Suites Columbus-Dublin.
Sponsored by Aetna, the 2012 Awards will honor employers that have demonstrated a commitment to employee health by incorporating comprehensive worksite health promotion and wellness programs, and have encouraged employee health, enhanced productivity, and ensured a healthy work environment.
“We’re very grateful to be recognized by the Ohio Department of Health and the Healthy Ohio Business Council for our efforts to create a healthy workplace,” said Kara Trott, CEO of Quantum Health. “We wholeheartedly believe that in order for our employees to take the best possible care of our clients, we must first take care of them in all aspects. Whether that’s through things like our on-site gym, our ‘Turkey-Trot’ walk/run on Thanksgiving morning, providing free snacks such as fresh fruit & nuts, or our Serenity Room complete with massage chair to relax and refocus on stressful days, we know it all adds up to a healthier, happier workforce.”
A total of 35 Ohio businesses will be honored with the award during the Health Action Council 2013 Annual Conference, an event which features national experts on health reform, health care systems and health benefits.
“Employee health and wellness efforts result in major benefits for both employer and employee,” said HOBC chair Ritzler. “Positive returns on investment are realized in employees who improve their health, resulting in decreased rates of absenteeism and increased productivity. Employers also realize reductions in health care costs and an overall increase in productivity and job satisfaction.”
