Northwestern Health Sciences University president named to board of ACCAHC

Chiropractic Economics August 1, 2011

August 1, 2011 — Mark Zeigler, DC, president of Northwestern Health Sciences University has been named to the Board of Directors of the Academic Consortium for Complementary & Alternative Health Care (ACCAHC).

“I am honored to support this organization and join the group of dedicated professionals on the Board,” said Zeigler. “There has never been a better time to promote integrative health care, and to emphasize patient-centered, evidence-informed healthcare.”

The national organization is a vehicle for shifting medicine toward a system which focuses on health, engaging, and supporting activities in the areas of education, clinical care, and research and policy clarification. The aim is to help transform the patient experience through strengthening understanding and cooperation among educators, researchers, and clinicians from distinct health care disciplines.

ACCAHC members consist of colleges and schools, accrediting agencies, and certification and testing organizations associated with five licensed complementary healthcare professions:

  • Chiropractic;
  • Acupuncture and Oriental medicine;
  • Massage therapy;
  • Naturopathic medicine; and
  • Homebirth midwifery.
