December 18, 2008 — Michael Wiles, DC, MEd, has been named as the interim provost of Northwestern Health Sciences University. Dr. Wiles has been the dean of the College of Chiropractic.
In his new position, Dr. Wiles will oversee the academic programs at Northwestern, including Northwestern College of Chiropractic, The Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, The School of Massage Therapy, and The College of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies. In addition, the Wolfe-Harris Center for Clinical Studies and Northwestern’s Clinic System will be under the leadership of Dr. Wiles.
The interim provost position was created when Charles Sawyer, DC, stepped down as provost in late November 2008 to focus on his duties as senior vice president.
According to Dr. Zeigler, a search committee will be selected by late December and charged with developing a list of finalists for the position of provost by early spring. Dr. Zeigler expects to name a new provost by late spring. at Northwestern since 2005.
