November 14, 2013 — Northwestern Health Sciences University announced that Kent Erickson, DC, will be the interim president and CEO, effectively immediately.
Erickson has more than 30 years of experience in retail, management, business, and healthcare, including owning a successful multidisciplinary chiropractic practice for 31 years.
Erickson graduated in 1982 from Northwestern College of Chiropractic with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Prior to attending Northwestern, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
Erickson is the owner of Brookdale Health in Brooklyn Center, Minn. His clinic includes chiropractors, physical therapists, and massage therapists. He has been a member of the Northwestern Health Sciences University Board of Trustees since 2004. He was elected vice chair in 2006 and chair of the board in 2008.
He has held leadership positions and/or membership on many industry groups, including the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards (FCLB), Minnesota Board of Chiropractic Examiners (MBCE), and Minnesota Chiropractic Association (MCA). He previously served as chair of the MCA Legislative Committee, chair of the MBCE Peer Review Development Committee, and Executive Director of the Minnesota Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
Erickson’s position as board chair will be filled by Northwestern board member David Peterson, DC.
