Northwestern Health Sciences University Launches Online Master of Health Science in Integrative Care

New completely online program empowers practitioners, administrators and healthcare leaders to create a patient-centric and holistic healthcare ecosystem

Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU), the premier evidence-based integrative health institution of higher education headquartered in Bloomington, Minn., announces its new online Master of Health Science in Integrative Care program. The program, designed for licensed practitioners, administrators, and other health care professionals, highlights the impact integrative, whole person care will have on the future of our health care system.

The fast-paced and flexible master’s program aids health care leaders with knowledge to include integrative care approaches into patients’ care plans and create a more holistic, sustainable health care system. The program is NWHSU’s second fully online degree providing flexibility for students to balance their careers while growing professionally and earning a master’s degree. Students can complete the program within one to two years.

“Through the Master of Health Science in Integrative Care program, we are preparing changemakers in the health care industry. NWHSU’s program is creating a future for healthcare that works. Diversity of thought is key to this program’s learning environment and success, and it is designed to meet the needs of a wide variety of learners. Specifically, complementary and integrative healthcare professionals, mainstream medical providers, personal trainers, clinic owners and managers, hospital administrators, community health workers, and those with a bachelor’s in a healthcare-related field looking to pursue a master’s degree will benefit from this program. Graduates will be prepared to support patients through a person-centered approach designed to address all aspects of health and to change systems to better serve patients.

With three specialization tracks, students can tailor their offerings to emphasize trauma informed integrative care, integrative health coaching and integrative health care administration to meet their patients’ needs.

• The trauma-informed integrative care track focuses on better understanding the inextricable link between the mind and body, seeking to support people in healing from trauma and restoring wellness.
• Integrative health coaching inspires whole person well-being in individuals and communities through functional and integrative health practices.
• Integrative health care administration track deepens the knowledge of the complexities of the health industry to transform it from within and design systems that are collaborative, financially viable and equitable.
