Northwestern Health Sciences University College of Chiropractic names teacher of the year

Chiropractic Economics June 25, 2011

June 25, 2011 — While Anita Manne, DC, DACBR, enjoyed science in high school and college, she never thought she would be where she is today — an accomplished doctor of chiropractic, an esteemed Northwestern Professor for 26 years, and founder of Radiological Consultation Services.anitamanne

While at a party, Manne met a few chiropractic students whose enthusiasm for chiropractic care made her eager to look into the field. Before she knew it, she was enrolled at the Logan School of Chiropractic in St. Louis.

“In my first radiology course, I fell in love with it and knew it was what I wanted to specialize in,” she says. Manne enjoys radiology because she sees it as an opportunity to use different abilities. “I think it is a creative endeavor. The marriage of using knowledge and creativity to solve a problem is wonderful and gratifying,” she says.

Manne is a true lifelong learner, inspired by a coworker to become interested in everything. “Since getting to know LaVerne Hudalla, a former librarian at Northwestern, staying interested and engaged has been a goal I have strived for. Even in retirement she hasn’t slowed down,” she says. Manne’s thirst for learning has guided her teaching career. “My students teach me every single day, she says. “They’re energizing, and make my job really fun.”

Manne is honored to be recognized as Teacher of the Year. “For me, there are about 700 main reasons to show up to work every day — Northwestern’s wonderful chiropractic students,” she says. “To be recognized as an educator is a true highlight of my career. It’s so nice to be appreciated!”
