Non-chiropractic training and seminars

Student DC March 19, 2019

Consider non-chiropractic training and seminars
Many chiropractors spend much time and money listening to other chiropractors talk about how to be successful. That’s a good way to learn new skills and become inspired to higher levels of performance, but many non-chiropractic speakers and training sessions can also give you a new look at your potential and help you plan your future.

Seminars are expensive (many are more than $1,000, not including travel), but consider the benefit of a life-changing experience. Here are some factors to consider:

• More than a pretty face. Many big-name people promote their own seminars, but stop and think about the content, rather than the presenter. Sure, it would be great to see a famous presenter or to do things like walking on hot coals, but you are paying good money to make a long-term change. If you want a pretty face, go to a rock concert.

• Immediate benefit. The subject should be something you can benefit from immediately, not just after you start your practice. Why pay all that money if you can’t use it right now? For example, one workshop teaches you how to “win friends and influence people.” This is a great skill you can use immediately.

• Long-term effect. Many seminars and workshops talk about “life-changing” experiences, and get you excited and pumped up about the concepts. But, a few weeks later, their effect wears off: You put the seminar workbook on the shelf and go on with your life. As you are packing for graduation, you find the workbook and wonder why you paid all that money.

Instead of paying for a “life-changing” workshop, look for seminars and workshops that provide concrete, practical, concepts that will last, and that you can use every day. For example: Consider a time-management seminar that can help you become more productive and use your time more effectively.

Broaden your horizons by seeking out high-quality workshops and seminars you can use now, and later, and which have staying power to help you through the difficult startup process.

For all current chiropractic training, seminars, and workshops, you can always rely onChiropractic Economics Datebook.
