
New York Chiropractic College will host its Spring 2019 Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, August 3, at 9:30 a.m. (EDT) in the NYCC Standard Process Athletic Center in Seneca Falls, N.Y. During the ceremony, NYCC will confer 175 degrees on students who have earned or are on track to earn their diplomas by the end of the year.
Twenty-six graduates will take the Chiropractic Oath and receive their Doctor of Chiropractic degrees. This degree is earned after 10 trimesters of study (15 weeks each), including courses in areas like biochemistry, gross anatomy, neuroscience, nutrition, and business management, as well as extensive hands-on clinical experience and research.
An additional 149 master’s degrees will also be conferred in such areas as Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Human Anatomy and Physiology Instruction, Applied Clinical Nutrition, Diagnostic Imaging and Clinical Anatomy.
During the ceremony, graduating students will receive awards for excellence in academics, community service, clinical practice and leadership. Graduates and guests will also be addressed by Commencement speaker Karen Erickson, DC ‘88. She is the founder of Erickson Healing Arts in New York City, a Fellow of the American College of Chiropractic, a spokesperson for the American Chiropractic Association, and a published author of numerous articles and textbook chapters. As well, Erickson sits on the NYCC Board of Trustees.
