May 12, 2014 — The National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) held its annual meeting on May 2 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. State delegates re-elected Ronald B. Tripp Jr., DC, of Oklahoma as District IV Director.
Four other district directors continue their terms on the NBCE board. They are Daniel M. Côté (Oregon), DC, in District I; Donna L. Craft (Michigan), DC, in District II; Paul N. Morin (Maine), DC, in District III; and Norman E. Ouzts Jr. (South Carolina), DC, in District V. District directors are elected to three-year terms.
The board also has four at-large positions, two of which were open for election in 2014. Steven R. Conway (Wisconsin), DC, was re-elected, and Gary R. Pennebaker (Minnesota), DC, was elected. Salvatore D. LaRusso (Florida), DC, and Lawrence O’Connor (New Jersey), DC, continue their terms. At-large directors are elected to two-year terms.
Two NBCE Board positions are filled by the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards for one-year terms. This year, FCLB President LeRoy F. Otto (Minnesota), DC, and FCLB Vice President Farrel I. Grossman (South Carolina), DC, were re-appointed.
Once the 11-member board was seated, officers were chosen: Craft was elected president of the board, Morin was elected vice president, Conway was re-elected secretary, and LaRusso was elected treasurer. These four officers make up the Executive Committee of the NBCE.
Headquartered in Greeley, Colorado, the NBCE is the international testing organization for the chiropractic profession. Established in 1963, the NBCE develops, administers, and scores legally defensible, standardized written and practical examinations for candidates seeking chiropractic licensure throughout the United States and in several foreign countries.
