Medicare providers: Contractor revalidation requests on the horizon

Chiropractic Economics August 27, 2011

August 27, 2011 — The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently clarified that all providers enrolled in Medicare prior to March 25, 2011, will be required to “revalidate” their enrollment information once they receive notification from their Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC). The revalidation process confirms that CMS has current contact information and other details regarding enrolled Medicare providers.

Between now and March 23, 2013, MACs will regularly send out notices to begin this process for each provider. Providers must wait to submit revalidations until asked by their MAC to do so. Read CMS’ information on the revalidation process here.

Read the American Chiropractic Association’s (ACA) Frequently Asked Questions regarding Medicare enrollment and revalidation here.
