Logan University has announced a clinical training affiliation with University Hospitals (UH) Connor Integrative Health Network in Cleveland, Ohio.
The partnership was established through Logan graduate David Vincent, DC (’91), Buoncore family endowed director of chiropractic medicine at UH Connor Integrative Health Network. Dr. Vincent was responsible for introducing chiropractic to the UH organization and has integrated chiropractic into a number of UH institutes, such as primary care, sports medicine, and spine and pain management.
Dr. Vincent said clinical training affiliation will allow Logan Doctor of Chiropractic students to rotate through the UH system, gaining valuable experience in an integrated health care environment.
“Since I’ve arrived at UH, I’ve looked forward to the time where we could partner to create clinical experiences for chiropractic interns,” he said. “This collaboration allows students to work alongside our integrated chiropractic team in the areas of pain management, sports medicine, and physical medicine and rehabilitation, while developing an understanding of their role as a vital component of a large health system.”
Jason Goodman, DC (’98), PhD, director of external clinical rotations at Logan, helped create the agreement.
“Not only does the affiliation between Logan and University Hospitals give students one more phenomenal clinical experience opportunity to learn in a rich integrative health care setting, it also teaches our students to be team players in a multidisciplinary setting, strengthening their training in evidence-informed, patient-centered care,” Dr. Goodman said.
