January 8, 2014 — Logan University held its 172nd commencement for the degrees of Doctor of Chiropractic, Master of Science in Nutrition and Human Performance, and Master of Sports Science and Rehabilitation Dec. 21, 2013, in the William D. Purser, DC, Center on the Logan campus, in Chesterfield, Mo.
The ceremony, which included the academic hooding of each graduate, honored 96 students with the conferral of Logan’s flagship Doctor of Chiropractic degree by Logan President Clay McDonald, DC, MBA, JD; 14 students with the M.S degree Sports Science and Rehabilitation; and three students with the M.S. degree in Nutrition and Human Performance.
Marcus DeGeer, DC, an associate professor in Logan’s Clinical Science division, served as master of ceremonies. The commencement speaker was Lester C. Lamm, DC, professor emeriticus of the University of Western States.
Nine Doctor of Chiropractic graduates were recognized with special academic honors. They included valedictorian Abbi Nicole Sunner, Robert J. Trager and James V. Taylor — summa cum laude; Cory S. Davis, Bradley S. Moffitt, Joshua M. Bodine Lederman, Leah S. Owens, Shaun D. Nibbe, and Andrew M. Lowey — cum laude. Two Master of Science students graduated were recognized for Honors with Distinction for graduating with a GPA of 3.8 or better. They were: Beau R. Beard, DC and Daniel W. Rae, DC.
