November 16, 2011 — George Goodman, DC, FICC, president of Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs, has announced that the school will begin renovation work on its Montgomery Health Center, located on the Logan campus later this month.
As approved by Logan Board of Trustees, the almost $1.4 million project involves a floor-to-ceiling updating of the 13,000 square-foot health center, which was originally opened in March 1982, and the Logan Student Health Center as well as the establishment of the Foot Levelers Inc. clinic and some remodeling of the Biofreeze Sports & Rehabilitation Center housed there.
When completed in April 2012, the Montgomery facility will include three new intake/consultation rooms, 17 renovated outpatient treatment rooms, and a contemporary lobby waiting room with a 25-foot elliptical reception desk. The Logan Student Health Center will feature an 11-table “open-format” look with five private treatment rooms and two new dressing rooms as well as renovated clinicians’ and administrative offices.
The project also includes HVAC upgrades and new fire sprinkler systems throughout the first-floor and lower-level classroom areas in the Montgomery Health Center building.
“We are excited about improving our entire Montgomery facility,” said Goodman. “This project is a measure of our continued commitment to provide the finest clinical educational facilities and chiropractic services to the residents of Chesterfield and the entire metropolitan St. Louis area.”
Northstar Management Company is serving as the owner’s representative, with Shawn Bailey handling the day-to-day activities, on this project and Curtis W Cassel, AIA, of TR,i Architects is the principal architect. The project’s general contractor is Wright Construction.
Logan offers healthcare services to patients from the greater St. Louis area through its seven local health centers in the city of St. Louis, St. Louis County and St. Charles County. In fiscal year 2009-2010, there were 53,000 patient visits to these clinics. Approximately 273 interns currently work through the Logan clinic system.
