Kinesio Holding Corporation is a U.S.-based manufacturer of unique therapeutic tapes that are sold all over the world. The company is proud to announce that Seattle Mariners pitcher, Felix Hernandez, is the first North American professional athlete to be an official endorser of Kinesio Tape in the company’s history.
Kinesio has a long list of professional athletes who are taped by a certified taping practitioner, but they are not under contractual agreement and wear the tape on their own accord.
Hernandez will be the new face of Kinesio Tex Classic, Kinesio Pre-Cuts, and returning in 2016, the Kinesio Fan Cuts. Kinesio is a trusted, must-have brand for retailers looking for growth from a new and innovative product category, and the endorsement from “King Felix” will assist in this endeavor.
Felix Hernandez made his Major League debut in 2005 and has been on the mound for the Mariners ever since. “King Felix” has five all-star appearances and recently named to his sixth all-star game for 2015.
Felix pitched the 23rd perfect game in Major League history against the Tampa Bay Rays on August 15, 2012 and won the Cy Young Award for the 2010 season. In May 2015, Felix recorded his 2,000th strike-out and became the fourth youngest pitcher ever to achieve this feat.
Kinesio and the Seattle Mariner franchise continue to have a strong relationship because Rick Griffin, the senior director of athletic training for the Mariners and Kenzo Kase, DC, president and founder of Kinesio, have been good friends and partners for years.
The Kinesio Taping Method was already being used in the training room before Felix joined the team in 2005. He has been a huge fan ever since trying the tape for the first time.
