Hayward, Calif., December 23, 2009 – Dr. J. Michael Flynn, a national leader in the chiropractic profession, was a guest recently at Life Chiropractic College West and delivered an inspiring talk to the campus community. Dr. Flynn currently serves on the board of the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, a national effort to raise the visibility and understanding of chiropractic.
Dr. Flynn, who received his first adjustment as an infant from chiropractic pioneer Dr. B.J. Palmer, related stories about his multigenerational chiropractic family history in Louisiana. He recounted times when chiropractors were prosecuted for practicing their profession, providing perspective of how far chiropractic has progressed legally and professionally. Today his family owns a multidisciplinary clinic with five chiropractors and two medical doctors.
A past chairman of the American Chiropractic Association, Dr. Flynn is the first vice president of the World Federation of Chiropractic and previously served on the Louisiana Board of Chiropractic Examiners, among other leadership positions. He made his remarks on November 20 at Life West’s weekly Friday Seminar program, which brings prominent guest speakers to the campus to augment the regular college curriculum.
