August 16, 2013 — The International Chiropractors Association (ICA) is searching for a candidate to fill the position of executive director. Robert N. Pohtos has resigned effective Sept. 30, 2013, and the association would like to fill the position as soon as possible.
Pohtos, concluding 10 years of employment at ICA — including the last seven as the executive director of ICA and the executive vice president of the association’s foundation — has faithfully and effectively lead home office operations while serving three different presidents and boards. A retired U.S. Naval officer who saw duty for more than 26 years in the submarine force, Pohtos also served as an association executive for the USO of Metropolitan Washington for three years. Pohtos is a 2013 recipient of the ICA President’s award for dedicated service and is a Distinguished Fellow of ICA.
The ICA Board has formed a special search committee headed by ICA President, Dr. Michael McLean.
