August 28, 2012 — Here’s good news for chiropractors: Medicfusion EHR/EMR is now certified, which means you may be eligible for up to $44,000 in EHR Incentive Program funding through the HITECH Act.
This funding would be more than enough to cover any costs to your practice associated with implementation and ongoing support of your EHR/EMR System.
Who is Eligible?
The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act is a provision, which authorizes the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services to issue annual payments to eligible providers who demonstrate Meaningful Use of a Certified Electronic Health Records (EHR) System.
October 3, 2012 is the last day for eligible professionals to begin their 90-day reporting period to demonstrate meaningful use for the Medicare EHR Incentive and receive maximum. This funding won’t last forever! Beginning in 2013 potential incentives will begin to decline and ultimately be followed by penalties for those Medicare providers that do not become meaningful users of certified technology.
