ICA, DCs worldwide mourn loss of Sid E. Williams, DC

January 2, 2013 — The world of chiropractic has suffered a grievous and historic loss with the passing of Sid E. Williams, DC Dec. 27 in Marietta, Ga. A powerful, towering figure, Williams, in a career extending well over half a century, built a record of achievement unrivaled in the modern era of chiropractic. 

Williams served as the 7th president of ICA from 1982 to 1985, as ICA Chairman of the Board, and as Chair of ICA’s Legislative Committee. In 1985 he was recognized as ICA’s Chiropractor of the Year.  He was also elected as a Distinguished Fellow of the ICA (FICA) and was the recipient of a host of numerous other awards and recognitions for his service and leadership.

Founder of Life University and Life Chiropractic College West, Williams vaulted the chiropractic profession to new heights with its world presence that continues to expand the global frontiers of chiropractic. Thousands of chiropractors have benefitted due to his educational leadership.

Deeply committed to the founding principles of chiropractic, Williams provided strong and determined leadership in an era where the abandonment of those principles was advocated by some within chiropractic, earning for himself the title of “defender” of chiropractic. His advocacy, by way of example, is a legacy to the profession’s leaders who have followed. 

Through his Dynamic Essentials seminars (DE seminars), he mentored, encouraged, and inspired three generations of chiropractors, offering a pathway to practice success for thousands of doctors and their patients.

The entire ICA family is greatly saddened by the loss of a dear friend, great chiropractic champion and supporter without peer.
