Shayne Morris, PhD, CCN, FACN, began his career 25 years ago, just as the nutritional supplement industry was hitting full stride. Early training in fundamental manufacturing and product development projects ignited his passion for natural products.

He achieved his first formal natural products training in 1995, when he received a dual bachelors degree, BS in Chemistry and BS in Microbiology, from Weber State University. Morris’ PhD research was fully funded by the Huntsman Cancer Institute and is part of new cancer treatments that have saved thousands of lives across the country.

After receiving his PhD in biochemistry from the University of Utah, he joined a world-leading nutritional supplement company as vice president of research and development. In this executive capacity, he returned to graduate school for his executive MBA from Utah State University. Soon after, he joined Weber State University as an adjunct professor to continue his research in nutritional genomics. This resulted in a number of publications and patents including the only U.S. and international patents in company history for his work on novel natural products.

Six years ago Morris joined Systemic Formulas, where he continues to pioneer natural products science in areas like nutrigenomics, epigenetics, and pioneering a field called herbalomics. As a more recent certified clinical nutrition specialist and chief executive, Morris works with practitioners to help Systemic Formulas create more effective nutritional herbal products.

He is very proud to be a husband to Amy and a father to McKelle and Cambrye.
