August, 2008 April 1, 2009 — Eminent national healthcare reform has served as a catalyst to bring national chiropractic organizations together and a “Joint Policy on National Health Care Reform“ and “Chiropractic Summit One Message“ have been adopted.
This is a unique time of challenge and opportunity for the chiropractic profession and unprecedented effort is required to protect and improve access to chiropractic services in this reform process. The debate has begun and chiropractic must create a groundswell of public support to strengthen its voice that is so easily overshadowed by the huge and powerful interests that dominate healthcare in this country. To answer this need for immediate public engagement on behalf of chiropractic, the ACA has initiated an urgent, unprecedented campaign to empower and engage chiropractic patients.
The Web site, www.ChiroVoice.org, will serve as the core of a consumer advocacy network through which patients can help to protect their access to a chiropractor. Using a secure, national database of chiropractic patient contact information, the profession will be able to launch a targeted congressional education campaign that underscores the efficacy, cost-effectiveness and safety of the essential healthcare services provided by a chiropractor.
It’s easy for your patients to sign up and costs them nothing. They can sign up online at www.ChiroVoice.org or fill out the form attached and return it to you for forwarding to the ACA (FAX: 703-243-2593 or MAIL 1701 Clarendon Blvd. Arlington, VA 22209 ATTN: ChrioVoice). The ACA has asked state associations to assist by spreading the word about ChiroVoice and enlisting the help of state association members to rally millions of chiropractic patients nationwide in this effort. All of the tools are linked to this message, including a fact sheet you can print and hand out to your patients.
Ask your patients to view the ChiroVoice site and sign up online or fill out the sign-up form while they are in your office. They will not be inundated with e-mail messages, but, will receive a monthly newsletter and periodic legislative updates and will be requested to contact their congressman/senator only as necessary with specific, targeted messages as the process moves along.
