D’Youville University has reached a major milestone in the launch of its College of Osteopathic Medicine (DYU-COM), with the inaugural Fall 2026 class now fully enrolled.

The first class of 90 students was filled ahead of schedule, driven by strong demand from applicants across the US and academic credentials, including GPAs and MCAT scores that exceeded initial expectations, a press release noted. Forty-six percent of students in the inaugural cohort come from New York.

“This milestone reflects both the strength of our academic foundation, and the confidence students are placing in D’Youville as they choose where to begin their medical careers,” said Lorrie Clemo, PhD, president of D’Youville University. “As we prepare to welcome our first class in Fall 2026, we’re building something truly special, an experience built on excellence, shaped by key partnerships and designed to open doors for people with unbounded aspirations. It’s a program that will not only serve our students but strengthen care in our community for generations to come.”

While the Fall 2026 class is now full, the University continues to accept applications and conduct interviews for its waitlist, as well as for the Fall 2027 entering class.

Renovations have begun on the medical school’s permanent home at 285 Delaware Avenue in downtown Buffalo. With project financing in place, the 125,000-square-foot building will be transformed into a modern, state-of-the-art medical education facility designed to support innovative instruction, hands-on learning and collaborative training. The space is expected to welcome medical students beginning in Fall 2027.

The renovated facility will include advanced anatomy and simulation laboratories, technology-enabled classrooms and collaborative learning environments intentionally designed to mirror real-world healthcare settings. Located in the heart of Buffalo’s growing medical corridor, the site places students minutes from major hospitals and established clinical partners.
