DOT Tester iPad app brings paperless solution

Chiropractic Economics April 11, 2014

DOT_TesterApril 11, 2014 — Integrated Practice Solutions Inc. (IPS), a leading developer in both software and mobile applications for healthcare professionals, is pleased to offer DOT Tester — an iPad app that allows Certified Medical Examiners (CME) the ability to perform Department of Transportation medical examinations efficiently and in a paperless environment — to chiropractors as the mandatory federal exam testing date draws near.

“For the providers currently performing these mandatory DOT tests, a federal exam must be successfully completed by May 21, 2014, by CMEs or they lose the privilege to perform these tests,” said Robert Moberg, president of Integrated Practice Solutions. “Millions of exams must be completed each year bringing healthy drivers into wellness facilities around the country. These drivers may never have been exposed to chiropractic practices prior to this mandatory examination law going into effect.”

DOT Tester is the turnkey app to fully support CMEs to conduct and process on-site and off-site DOT medical exams and certificates. The innovative features of DOT Tester include:

  • Creating a mobile exam room that expands the four walls of a practice and provides patients with the convenience of examining them where they work
  • A guided examination process to ensure that each and every exam is complete, with easy drop down menus and charts to speed up recording results without typing
  • Intuitive form elements that allow the examiner to easily navigate through each section, collect patient and provider signatures with just a finger, and retain provider signature for future use
  • The ability to quickly create legible reports and certificates in PDF format, which can be emailed or printed right from the app to the driver or employer

Interested chiropractors can visit DOTtester.com or download the App from Apple’s App Store.

“This is a great opportunity for chiropractors to reach out into their communities, and DOT Tester makes the processing of the DOT driver exams a snap,” added Moberg. “There is no paperwork to complete, store, file, or mail — the entire DOT exam can be processed from within the DOT Tester App.”
