Chiropractor brings sports medicine experience to LGPA Tour

Chiropractic Economics Staff April 29, 2013

Golf legend Nancy Lopez and Jennifer Illes, DCApril 29, 2013 — National University of Health Sciences sponsored faculty member Jennifer Illes, DC, to work as a chiropractic physician at the Walgreens Charity Championship women’s golf tournament held April 27-28 in central Florida.

This tournament is one of nine events in “The Legends Tour,” the official tour for Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) players age 45 and over. Players included LPGA stars such as Nancy Lopez, who are now active on the LPGA’s official senior tour.

Additionally, Illes has been named the coordinator for physician services for all three “Legends” tournaments to be held in Florida in 2013. She has had many years of experience treating golfers as a chiropractic physician.

“I worked and lived in Niagara Falls, Ontario, which has over 20 golf clubs in one city! I am a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Instructor, have worked with a variety of players, and have volunteered at many local tournaments,” she says. “This is my first PGA experience.”

Illes has an extensive background with athletes from other sports as well, having worked with the Toronto Blue Jays, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and several Olympic athletes. She shares her sports medicine expertise with her DC students at National University’s Florida campus.
