September 26, 2018—The top chiropractors from across the United States will join together in the “Expanding Your Practice Symposium” on November 9-11 in Orlando, Florida. The purpose of the conference is to bring together chiropractors and their staff members in a setting that allows them to share their experience and expertise in serving as a drug-free, safe, and cost-effective alternative to pharmaceuticals in helping to combat the opioid crisis.
For 123 years, the chiropractic profession has provided an alternative to pharmaceutical intervention for the relief of acute and chronic pain. According to a 2017 Gallup-Palmer Annual Report 78 percent of Americans prefer to try other ways to address their physical pain before they take pain medication prescribed by a doctor. The study also found that 63 percent agree that most chiropractors have their patient’s best interest in mind.
Dr. Mark Sanna, president of Breakthrough Coaching and co-founder of the Symposium, comments, “We encourage chiropractors and medical professionals to join together at the Symposium.” Breakthrough Coaching is a consulting firm that for twenty years has assisted chiropractors and medical doctors in applying evidence-based, outcome-oriented tools and systems to improve patient outcomes. “As a second-generation chiropractor,” remarks Dr. Sanna, “I have seen the remarkable rise in acceptance of chiropractic care by the public. The opioid crisis is a significant reason for chiropractors to further collaborate with their medical counterparts to provide non-drug alternatives for pain relief.”
Symposium co-founder, Geoffrey Miscoe, CEO of KDT Decompression Systems and Technique and Mir-Com Products, LLC, states “We are proud to be associated with the Symposium and look forward to reminding chiropractors of the importance of their history as the primary drug-free alternative for pain relief. Through an appreciation of the efforts of the generations of chiropractors who helped the profession achieve mainstream acceptance, the current generation of chiropractors can fully appreciate their central and unique role in health care.”
The Symposium will be held at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld and is expected to be one of the most highly-rated events of the Chiropractic Calendar. “The Symposium will focus on sharing the latest information in patient care and management,” states Dr. Sanna, “there has never been a better time for chiropractors to engage with each other, the public, and other health care providers to impact the current broken model of pain management.”
