Back pain accounts for $100 billion dollars in health care revenue and is the second leading cause of doctor related visits, according to a study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine. Based on a four- year retrospective claims data analysis health care members who were covered including chiropractic insurance reported lower annual health care costs. In addition to this, the research shows that they also visited the doctor less. The fact that they did not have to follow the ways of more traditional medical care and were able to use chiropractic work as an alternative to numerous visits to the doctor saved them not only money but time. This analysis was done using more than 700,000 thousand members of a health care plan with chiropractic coverage as compared to 1 millions members of the same plan without the chiropractic coverage.
