CCGPP chapters available for comment

Chiropractic Economics June 24, 2008

June 24, 2008 — The Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters (CCGPP) has posted a number of chapters for comment on its Web site, www.ccgpp.org.

 • Chiropractic management of low-back disorders: Report from a consensus process is available for comment until Aug. 1.

• Manipulative therapy of lower extremity conditions — draft is open for comment until Aug. 15. According to Mark Dehen, DC, CCGPP chairperson, this is an evidence synthesis and part of the chapter, Chiropractic management of lower-extremity disorders.

 • Soft-tissue conditions: Part 3, tendonopathies will be posted July 1 for a 60-day comment period.

Dehen says this is the fifth chapter to be released in the ongoing best practices initiative of the CCGPP.  He says, “This latest chapter utilizes the improved format developed by the commission to make the information more user-friendly for the profession; however, it should be noted that this chapter represents only the literature synthesis. Future projects are planned to translate this evidence into useful information for the DC practice, to be published in its final form as the Clinical Chiropractic Compass.”
