January 18, 2011 — Cardiovascular disease is still one of the leading causes of death in the United States, and even though it is perceived as a man’s disease, women account for 51 percent of the total cardiovascular disease deaths.
February is National Heart Month and seeks to draw attention to heart disease, treatment, and prevention. The American Heart Association also seeks to draw attention to women’s cardiovascular health with its annual Go Red for Women Day in February. Thousands of individuals and companies are raising awareness about heart disease by wearing red on this day.
Carilyn Anderson, president of Carlson Laboratories, states, “Several years ago, my parents started the tradition of featuring our heart healthy nutrients on special during January and February. Our annual Heart Month sale is our way of expressing our support for National Heart Month and the importance of making lifestyle changes for the prevention of cardiovascular disease.”
The Carlson Laboratories product line includes cardiovascular formulas, antioxidants that help combat free radicals, B Vitamins that help improve the blood chemistry, essential minerals that help maintain heart health, nutrients that help support cellular energy, and Norwegian fish oils to help promote and support cardiovascular health.
