Carlo Guadagno, DC, DACBSP®, ICSC, FICC, a National University of Health Sciences Florida faculty member, was recently honored by Tampa Hispanic Heritage Inc. as a distinguished leader in the field of chiropractic education and sports medicine.
Guadagno received the 2023 Hispanic Leadership Class Award at a ceremony at Tampa River Center September 19.
The 2023 Leadership Class honors outstanding Hispanic leaders in the Tampa Bay area in eight leadership categories including health, media, art, education, business, civic involvement, etc.
In addition to the impact Guadagno has on the education and professional development of countless chiropractic students, he was also chosen for his volunteer work, which extends to global platforms, as he has mentored students during their service at Disney races and collaborated with the USA Olympic team in their training pursuits.
“Dr. Carlo Guadagno’s unwavering commitment to chiropractic education, sports medicine, and community engagement sets him apart as a nominee in the Education category,” the Tampa Hispanic Heritage Inc. website states. “His exemplary dedication and outstanding achievements have undoubtedly left an indelible mark on both his students and the wider chiropractic profession.”
Guadagno said the award took him completely by surprise. “It was totally unexpected,” he said. “To be awarded for leadership in education is extremely rewarding. It means my efforts are hitting the mark.”
Guadagno added that his students help keep him driven.
“What keeps me motivated is feeling the excitement and energy of my students every morning to learn more, knowing they will use today’s pearls of knowledge to help heal their future communities and having the privilege of vicariously participating when that day arrives,” he said.
