Brassard elected president of the Association of Chiropractic Colleges

Chiropractic Economics April 4, 2011

April 4, 2011 — At the annual meeting of the board of the Association of Chiropractic Colleges (ACC) held immediately preceding the ACC Research Agenda Conference, college leaders selected new officers to guide the organization for the next two years.

Richard G. Brassard, DC, president of Texas Chiropractic College (TCC), was elected by his peers to be the next president of the ACC.

“It’s a high honor to be elected by my peers, especially those we work closely with from other colleges,” said Brassard. “There are a lot of challenges facing us, but I strongly believe that working together in gentlemanly discussions will successfully lead us to cooperative and comprehensive solutions.”

Brassard had previously served on the ACC board and also served as secretary/treasurer for the last two years.

“His leadership abilities in the field of chiropractic education have been recognized by his fellow presidents as they were recognized by field practitioners when he was selected by them as president of the American Chiropractic Association several years ago,” said David O’Bryon, executive director of the ACC.

Also elected to serve as ACC vice-president was Mark Zeigler, DC, president of Northwestern Health Sciences University. Brian McAulay, DC, PhD, provost of Life University was elected to the position of secretary/treasurer.

Brassard indicated that he would continue to advance the strategic directives originally initiated during the presidency of outgoing ACC president Frank Nicchi, DC, MS, president of New York Chiropractic College, who will remain on the executive committee.
