Dramatic wellness, anti-aging supplements increases from DCs, according to new survey

Trends following wellness, anti-aging supplement product demand in the U.S.

An aging U.S. population has embraced wellness and anti-aging products and supplements according to the soon-to-be-released 22nd Chiropractic Economics Salary & Expense Survey.

The wellness economy is at $3.7 trillion according to MarketWatch, and anti-aging is expected to rise to $216 billion by 2021 according to Zion Market Research.

In the upcoming 2019 Chiropractic Economics magazine survey, doctors of chiropractic across the U.S. reported that wellness products and services offered by chiropractors rose 33% over last year, and anti-aging services and product offerings from chiropractors rose by 25%.

“This is a time where the destructive effects of refined and genetically altered foods, prescription drugs, toxins and sedentary lifestyles are causing multiple complex health issues that are difficult to overcome,” wrote chiropractor Ben Lerner for Chiropractic Economics magazine. “Chiropractic is the heart of true wellness, just as the brain and central nervous system are the center of all function. Without maximum nerve supply, all other facets of health cannot reach their respective potential.”

Among the aging U.S. population, Tina Beychok writes for Chiropractic Economics that the roughly 76 million Baby Boomers (born 1946-64) and 65 million Generation Xers (born 1965-80) contain a very large population of adult consumers looking for the best anti-aging supplements and wellness supplements and services.

“Given that chiropractic is focused on keeping the body healthy through a commitment to a lifestyle of wellness, a savvy doctor of chiropractic can certainly break in to this growing market,” Beychok writes. “Offering services in addition to traditional adjustments can only add to a practice’s bottom line.”

The 2019 Chiropractic Economics Salary & Expense Survey results include more than 800 responses from doctors of chiropractic in the U.S. The survey is the go-to source for annual salary data and trending information in the chiropractic industry.
