September 14, 2012 — The Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC) announced recently that it will be sponsoring the newly-promoted Bournemouth Rugby Club as it progresses through the new season.
Rugby and chiropractic have always enjoyed a close relationship; ex-rugby players often choose to retrain as chiropractors, while some of the AECC’s students already play in the BRFC team. Such a move will no doubt help to strengthen that bond even further.
Anthony Williamson, the club’s vice-chairman in charge of commercial activities, said: “The connection with AECC is fantastic for Bournemouth Rugby Club. As well as the financial support, we regularly need the kind of medical expertise and facilities that AECC can provide, and to have this available will be invaluable as we embark on our toughest ever season. There has been a great relationship with AECC and Bournemouth Rugby Club over the years, with players and coaches (past and present) studying at the College. This closer relationship is a natural fit.”
Director of the AECC clinic, Dr. Neil Osborne, echoed the excitement surrounding the sponsorship. He commented: “The AECC is always looking to establish links with local sports clubs, so we’re obviously extremely proud to be affiliated with a club that is doing so well.”
The AECC has a renowned expertise in helping to train and support athletes. Its state-of-the-art clinic recently played host to several members of the 2012 Icelandic Olympic team during the final stages of their training.
