American Chiropractic Association Signs on to Partnership for Patients

Chiropractic Economics April 22, 2011

April 22, 2011 — Citing concerns for patient safety, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has created a new initiative called Partnership for Patients that will seek to target and eliminate medical errors.

Partnership for Patients will unite HHS officials with health care providers, hospital leaders, employers, and patient advocates to collaborate on new ways to help improve patient safety.

“Americans go to the hospital to get well, but millions of patients are injured because of preventable complications and accidents,” said HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. “Working closely with hospitals, doctors, nurses, patients, families and employers, we will support efforts to help keep patients safe, improve care and reduce costs.”

To demonstrate ACA’s support for improving patient safety in all healthcare settings, ACA has signed the Partnership for Patients Pledge. To learn more about ACA’s involvement click here and to learn more about Partnership for Patients, click here.
