Join the American Chiropractic Association on May 2 for ACA’s Virtual Education Summit, “From Evidence to Practice: Advancing Chiropractic Care,” a one-day live online event designed for DCs, chiropractic students, faculty and healthcare professionals.

This engaging program will bring together expert speakers to explore clinical care, emerging science, ethics and practical issues shaping today’s chiropractic profession. The Summit will take place from 9–4:30 p.m. EST. Participants can earn up to 6 CE credits. Reserve your spot today and save with early-bird pricing.

Meet Dr. Cliff Tao

In advance of the event, the ACA Blog reached out to presenter Cliff Tao, DC, DACBR, to learn more about what participants can gain by attending his presentation, “Radiology Mindset.”

Tao has owned and operated a nationwide private chiropractic radiology practice since 2004. Following graduation from National University of Health Sciences, he completed a three-year full-time chiropractic radiology residency at Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (LACC) and then a full-time musculoskeletal radiology research fellowship at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) Medical Center. He is published both in chiropractic and medical literature on the topic of chiropractic, spine and musculoskeletal imaging.

Q: How is the topic you are presenting at the Virtual Education Summit relevant to today’s chiropractor?

Having the right mindset can help us to successfully interpret our patient’s imaging studies. Part of being in the right mindset allows us to be more aware of the various cognitive biases that can alter our imaging interpretation.

Q: How long have you been interested in this topic? What keeps you interested?

I’ve been interested since my radiology training days in the early 2000’s. It’s fascinating that we all make mistakes, despite having all this data to help us.

Q: Can you provide one or two takeaways from your presentation that will help Virtual Education Summit attendees improve their patient care?

Most of us in chiropractic already have a growth mindset, or a “learning orientation,” but for some of us it may not transfer into the realm of radiology. Having the right mindset is important and having it in multiple areas in your practice (and life) is better.
