ACA expands consumer outreach with Spanish resources

The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) has expanded its consumer outreach to include Spanish language resources, enabling doctors of chiropractic to educate new audiences about chiropractic’s non-drug, holistic approach to pain relief, injury prevention, and health and wellness.

Spanish is the most common non-English language spoken in the United States with more than 37 million speakers, and it is also the fastest growing language in the country. To help chiropractors more effectively reach Spanish speakers with information on musculoskeletal (MSK) health and the benefits of chiropractic care, ACA launched a project this past year to translate 11 of its most popular patient handouts into Spanish.

Among them, “About Chiropractic” and “Joint Health” are now available to everyone at acatoday.org/patienthandouts. ACA members have access to the full suite of topics, which includes back pain exercises, neck pain, fall prevention and more.

ACA is excited to share more tools to help doctors of chiropractic educate their communities about MSK health and injury prevention. Through this project and others, the association is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in the chiropractic profession. ACA published a statement on diversity in 2018, acknowledging the importance of cultural agility as a foundation for competent healthcare delivery, and later established a Committee on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion to spearhead additional initiatives.
