ACA-endorsed La-Z-Boy launches back pain awareness campaign

Chiropractic Economics February 2, 2010

February 2, 2010 — La-Z-Boy, the newest recipient of an endorsement by ACA, has launched a nationwide campaign to increase awareness of back pain and offer suggestions for back-pain sufferers.

Reclining as an option for alleviating back pain has been supported throughout the medical community, in addition to other chiropractic recommendations like exercises that incorporate smooth and fluid movement. La-Z-Boy commissioned a nationwide survey of 300 primary care physicians and a majority (68 percent) of them said they were likely to recommend that a patient sit in a reclined position to help alleviate back pain.

This campaign is part of a public relations initiative and includes an online portal with advice for consumers at www.la-z-boy.com/PrescriptionRecline.

“Over the years we’ve heard from many customers that La-Z-Boy reclining chairs and sofas helped relieve back pain,” said Doug Collier, chief marketing officer for La-Z-Boy. “We are proud to have the endorsement of the ACA, which represents the highest standard of quality in chiropractic care, and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”
