Chiropractic profession has the best job security, according to MarketWatch

Chiropractic Economics Staff April 3, 2015

chiropractor-smilingApril 3, 2015 — MarketWatch has placed the chiropractic profession at the top of its rankings in an article titled “10 Professions with the Best Job Security.”

Chiropractic is a rewarding career choice that allows graduates to serve their communities and make a positive impact in people’s lives.

Chiropractors take a natural, preventative approach to health care, without the invasive use of drugs or surgery, helping patients enjoy a greater potential for health and optimal human performance.

Fast Company, Forbes, Career Cast, and other organizations repeatedly name chiropractic as a top job. Aside from the personal satisfaction of helping people, a chiropractic career is in demand; the Bureau of Labor Statistics has reported that the employment of chiropractors is expected to increase faster than the average for all occupations through the year 2022.

Because chiropractors emphasize the importance of healthy lifestyles, chiropractic care is appealing to many health-conscious Americans.

Projected job growth for the chiropractic profession stems from increasing consumer demand for a more natural approach to health care.

Methodology: In its study, MarketWatch considered unemployment rates among workers in 564 occupations provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Estimated employment growth between 2012 and 2022, median 2012 wages, labor force totals, and typical education requirements for each job also came from the BLS, according to the article.
