March 12, 2015 — Logan University has named James Paine, PhD, to the newly-created position of assistant vice president for student affairs/dean of students.
“I’m excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to expanding the university’s focus on long-term student success,” he said.
Paine previously served as Logan’s dean of student services. In this new role, he will manage
- the Student Affairs Office,
- the Counseling and Psychological Services Office,l
- the Department of Sports and Activities,
- and the Career Development Office.
The position was created to further align Logan’s support resources and initiatives with the goal of improving impact on student success.
“Dr. Paine is a proven leader and brings a great deal of expertise in student affairs to his new role,” Logan President Clay McDonald, DC, JD, MBA, said. “We look forward to his guidance in helping better position students for greater professional success.”
In addition to his role at Logan, Paine serves as an adjunct assistant professor in the College of Education at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. He also serves the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association as a peer accreditation reviewer and is a member of the College Access Advisory Committee through the Missouri Department of Higher Education.
