Northwestern Health Sciences University student senate elects new cabinet

Chiropractic Economics April 2, 2011

April 2, 2011 — Students at Northwestern Health Sciences University recently elected a new Student Senate Cabinet. The new members will take office at the beginning of the 2011 summer trimester, which starts May 1.

The new Cabinet members are:

  • Caleb Durenberger, president;
  • Steve Wilsens, vice president of the College of Chiropractic;
  • Leah Eichmiller, vice president of the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine;
  • RondaKae Vainikka, vice president of the School of Massage Therapy;
  • Joseph Osborne, parliamentarian;
  • Megan Wall, treasurer; and
  • Maria Johnson, secretary.

“We have so much to look forward to as a University and as students,” said Durenberger. “I want to be a part of that and contribute to the betterment of our professions and, ultimately, the benefit to countless patients that will be the effect of my fellow classmates. I’m excited by my position as president of Student Senate and I accept this role with humility and reverence.”

Elections were held March 10-16 on Northwestern’s Moodle site. Shanna Shouman, current president of Student Senate said, “The next Student Senate Cabinet will be a terrific leadership force. I have no doubt that they will have a positive and lasting effect on Northwestern!”

“Congratulations to the new Cabinet members on their recent election. I appreciate your dedication to our school and willingness to serve on Cabinet, especially with busy schedules,” said Mark Zeigler, DC, president at Northwestern. “I’m looking forward to working with each of you in the upcoming year to further Northwestern’s standing as a premier natural health care institution.”
