Former NBCE executive director passes away

Chiropractic Economics January 19, 2010

January 19, 2010 — Gordon L. Holman, DC, passed away Oct. 16, 2009, in Sun City, Arizona.

Holman helped form the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) in 1963 and served as its first executive director from 1963-1981. His passion for the advancement of chiropractic practice helped to lay the foundation for standardized testing and added to the growth and acceptance of chiropractic as a healthcare alternative.

Holman graduated from National College of Chiropractic in 1942. After his service to the Navy during World War II, he moved to Cheyenne, Wy. with his wife Elaine, where he started the Cheyenne chiropractic Clinic.  In 1960 Holman was named Chiropractor of the Year by the Wyoming Chiropractic Association, and in 1973 he was elected president of that same organization.
