5 low-cost ways to attract new patients to your practice

Chiropractic Economics Staff January 18, 2024

Running a chiropractic practice is all about balance. Aside from the obvious responsibility of providing seamless healthcare to your patients, it’s also vital to come up with new and exciting ways to attract new patients without breaking the budget.

Though it might sound challenging, attracting new patients doesn’t necessarily require a hefty marketing budget from your practice. What it will require is time, patience and consistent, dedicated effort.

This article shares a few easy, cost-effective ways to attract new patients over time.

How to attract new patients to your chiropractic practice

From the start, we want to be clear about patient acquisition – it’s likely to be more costly than patient retention. That being said, there are strategic ways to lower your patient acquisition cost (PAC). Some of the below strategies can help you organically attract new patients over time without needing a massive influx to your marketing budget.

Maintain a consistent and competitive online presence

Being available and consistent in your online space shows your target audience (new patients) that you’re present. When a patient stumbles upon your website or hears about your practice, one of the first things they’re going to do is look for social proof.

In our digital age, social proof is often linked with online presence, meaning a competitive online presence can positively influence a patient’s decision-making process.

Having a highly optimized website is a great start

Taking it a step further with a regular social media presence, quick email and social media responses, regular blog updates and even the release of free value resources can all show your ideal audience that you’re present, attentive and ready for new clients.

Revisit your target audience demographic data

Ask yourself who are you really trying to draw into your practice? Understanding who you’re looking for can help you in your search to attract more of those patients into your office. Evaluate and review the target demographic you’re chasing. Then, make appropriate marketing and outreach adjustments based on those findings.

Explore referral programs to attract new patients

Referral programs aren’t for every practice or every DC, but they can prove helpful for some. Do yourself a favor and don’t overcomplicate the idea of a referral program; instead, go for a simple process. This might mean offering a patient a free session for every two or three new patients they refer. Or, it could mean sharing free products or service discounts for all referrals. Whatever you choose, make sure it works for you, your practice and your books.

Use organic search strategies

Paid search strategies can be effective for marketing but they’ll cost you. Organic strategies, like content marketing, can help you slowly build momentum, direct traffic to your site and get more eyes on your digital presence. Strong, high-converting resources built with SEO in mind can get new patients in the door. This process is effective but does take time to gain momentum.

Refresh your website

How is your website functioning? When was the last time you optimized it? Search engine algorithms are always changing, if you’re not staying on top of your site, it’s likely you’re setting yourself up for failure. Revamp your website, make it as mobile-friendly as possible and ensure the words and design on your site are making it easy for your patients to book or take action.
