2010 NUHS homecoming a success

Chiropractic Economics June 22, 2010

June 22, 2010 — National University of Health Sciences welcomed alumni to its homecoming 2010. The theme of the event was “The Keys to Success in Tough Economic Times,” and featured hard-hitting seminars for practice management and insightful presentations on today’s health issues. Guest speakers included Todd Winegar, JD; David Seaman, DC, MS; David M. Barnes, PhD; and Stanly Greenfield, in addition to key NUHS faculty leaders.

Several faculty and alumni were honored at an evening banquet that included musical entertainment from the duo “Frank and Dave.” Terry Robert Yochum, DC, and the late Gordon L. Holman DC, were given the highest honor of having their pictures placed in the NUHS Hall of Fame.

Scientific journal editors Dr. Bart Green and Dr. Claire Johnson were each awarded the university’s “distinguished service” award for their many published works in addition to their management of the university’s three journals.

Anthony J. Lisi, DC, and Donald E. Owens, Jr. DC, both received presidential citations, and John Gentile, DC, was honored as Alumnus of the Year. Frank Strehl, DC, received the President’s Medallion, and several NUHS faculty, including Randy Swenson, DC, MHPE, Robert Shiel, PhD, Joyce Whitehead, MALS, and C. Robert Humphreys, DC, received presidential citations for their many years of excellent service.

This year’s NUHS Homecoming boasted several key corporate sponsors, including Biotics Research Corporation, Anabolic Laboratories, China-Gel, LiteCure, and RPS Imaging. In addition, NUHS President, Dr. James F. Winterstein, received a check from Standard Process Inc. as the first part of a $500,000 donation to the university for upgrades to its educational facilities.
