08/23/2022 7 – 9 PM CT Case Studies & Clinical Pearls 319: TMD
August 23, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) are a group of somatic disorders that occur in the structurally integrated cranium and affect the TMJ joint system. Due to its proximity to the to the neck, TMD may often involve the cervical structures leading to inflammation and degenerative changes to ligaments and muscles as well as the osseous structures of the region. Until recently, occlusal relationships of the mouth were central to the causes of TMD, however, it is apparent that TMD can be caused by many other factors leading to oro-facial pain of non-dental origin.
