
“I’m thrilled about starting a position that combines my past experience, training and education and focuses in one direction: viscero-somatic reflexes in the body,” Beavers said. “In addition to interacting with students, I look forward to expanding the base of knowledge and providing prevention information and evidence-based research for improved patient care.”
Beavers earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan in 1990 and holds a Masters of Education from the University of Arkansas and a Masters of Public Health from Saint Louis University. He has instructed at the university level for more than a decade, most recently teaching basic and chiropractic science at Logan and health management and policy at Saint Louis University.
Beavers has also worked as a chiropractic physician at Heartland Healthcenter, which he opened in 1992, and has served as a co-investigator or principal investigator on several studies with more than seven years of research experience. He is certified in acupuncture, as well.
